CROCUS

There’s always room for crocus! You can squeeze hundreds into empty scraps of space, they bloom when you’re hungriest for flowers, their foliage disappears quickly, they multiply quickly.
Native from Spain to Afghanistan, crocus has been cherished in gardens since at least the 1500s.
Choose a site with well-drained soil (avoid or improve clay soil). Though they love sun, crocus often thrive in the dappled shade of deciduous trees, shrubs, & perennials, too. Plant with the growing tip up, Water & make sure the soil stays reasonably moist from fall through spring. During the summer, however, crocuses do better if the soil is dry.
Do NOT mulch. Crocuses are too small to push their way up through.
